Sara + Andy are so in love with each other, so full of joy and such kind, well-loved people. So, their wedding day was easy breezy and I loved being in on the fun. One of my most favorite things about being a wedding photographer (especially on the Big Island) is that I get to see couples express themselves, their quirks and the personalization that they bring to THEIR wedding day.
This wedding was so unique on SO many levels. The ceremony was part Quaker, part Jewish and there was also a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. The couple had temporary tattoos for their guests, each one was SO meaningful and carried a story. Example: one of the tattoos was a “Mobil” gas station sign…because they got engaged at a gas station. (*Cue all of “The Office” fans thinking…”Like Jim + Pam?!”…that was my first thought, too!)
AND, as if the day could have gotten any more fun and unique…the groom, Andy, performed! He is a SUPER talented singer and song writer with his band “Andy Suziki and The Method.” Goooo run and download all of their music! My personal favorite song is “Medicine.”
BUT, he wrote and performed a song for his darling bride, Sara. Even Sara performed a love song with Andy! And there were a few other songs, too! It was a dream and so very unique. Moral of the story…this day rocked and I HIGHLY recommend for any couples that are planning their weddings right now…BE UNIQUE! Do things that are out of the box and express who you are as a couple!
This romantic Big Island wedding was a dream and, as always, BIG THANKS to all of the amazing vendors for making this day so magical and stunning! (Click on each name to stalk each vendors website!)
